Local attractions

The beach is a mere 10 minutes away from the apartment and 5 minutes from the town of Gandia, on the east coast of Spain.

Benidorm is a 40 minute drive away should you wish to take in some of the best nightlife in Spain. Terra Mitica is the Spanish version of Disneyworld and can be found on route. The train runs directly from Gandia to the center of Valencia and takes around 1 hour. There is also a good taxi service from Gandia to the villa should you prefer to travel by car. Cost for this is approximately 10 Euros.

The villa is conveniently located 5 minutes drive through orange groves from the main market town of Gandia, which provides all amenities including shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and sports facilities. Valencia offers some of the best shopping facilities on the east coast of Spain.

It also has one of the oldest and largest bull fighting arenas in Spain.

New attractions for 2003 include a new state of the art aquarium.

The award winning sandy coastline beach at Gandia has a Nautical Club and Marina. Located within the magnificent countryside of Marchuquera, the villa enjoys peaceful surrounds and fantastic mountain scenery in all directions. A 5 minute drive in the opposite direction takes you to Barx, a small Spanish town with popular bars and restaurants. The area is popular with outdoor enthusiasts and the countryside is perfect for mountain bikers, rock climbers, hikers, walkers and golfers.

Between the town and Barx, you can find fresh spring water fountains that previously served the ancient monastery of Tabernes nearby.

Local markets and carnivals are held throughout the year.

A car is a necessity.
